Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post 8466 has kicked off its 2026 "Buddy Poppy" Campaign. Several weekends throughout the year, members of our Post and volunteer helpers will be standing outside the doors of the Wal-Mart stores in Louisburg and Wake Forest distributing the famous "Buddy Poppies". We encourage you to accept one with our compliments. We only ask that you wear it during the weeks leading up to Memorial Day to show that you remember those who gave their all for our Country. Of course, we will gladly accept your donations for our relief fund also. Please click the link below to find out more about "Buddy Poppies" or to volunteer to help us raise funds to help disabled Veterans and Veterans in need in our local area.
Join us for Wake Forest's own Friday Night on White outdoor street festival! There will be great music, good food, and some adult beverages. Of course, the Chuck Wagon will be there serving our regular menu of 100% Sirloin Burgers, Nathan's All-beef Franks and delicious Bratwurst subs. To learn more about Friday Night on White from the Town of Wake Forest, click HERE. To learn more about the Chuck Wagon, or to volunteer to help the Chuck Wagon crew, click the button below. If you can't work, just come out anyway and enjoy some great live music and perhaps an adult beverage along the way. And, naturally, visit the Chuck Wagon for some great food!
On the first Monday of each month from April through October, an American Flag is raised in front of the Wake Forest Town Hall at Centennial Plaza to honor the sacrifices of a deceased Wake Forest Veteran and their family.

...we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.
WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, Kosovo, War in Afghanistan, War in Iraq, War on Global Terror and other Peace-Keeping Expeditionary Campaigns throughout the globe.
Our programs support our service members while they are on the front line, as they are being discharged and long after they return. Your tax-deductible donation will be immediately directed to the VFW programs where your support is most urgently needed.
REPEAL S.L.2025-72 (SB 118) PART IVA critical provision hidden in state law actively hurts our veterans. Part IV (Section 4) of Session Law 2025-72 (SB 118) creates a state-level loophole that helps unaccredited, for-profit companies charge disabled veterans steep fees for filing initial VA disability claims. We need the General Assembly to repeal this IMMEDIATELY! For more information, click here.
