WELCOME TO WAKE FOREST MEMORIAL POST 8466

Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post 8466
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo, the Persian Gulf, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Buddy Poppy Campaign

See us next on June 26 & 27, 2026 in Wake Forest

Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post 8466 has kicked off its 2026 "Buddy Poppy" Campaign. Several weekends throughout the year, members of our Post and volunteer helpers will be standing outside the doors of the Wal-Mart stores in Louisburg and Wake Forest distributing the famous "Buddy Poppies". We encourage you to accept one with our compliments. We only ask that you wear it during the weeks leading up to Memorial Day to show that you remember those who gave their all for our Country. Of course, we will gladly accept your donations for our relief fund also. Please click the link below to find out more about "Buddy Poppies" or to volunteer to help us raise funds to help disabled Veterans and Veterans in need in our local area.

REPEAL S.L.2025-72 (SB 118) PART IV
A critical provision hidden in state law actively hurts our veterans. Part IV (Section 4) of Session Law 2025-72 (SB 118) creates a state-level loophole that helps unaccredited, for-profit companies charge disabled veterans steep fees for filing initial VA disability claims. We need the General Assembly to repeal this IMMEDIATELY! For more information, click here.
