Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post 8466 has kicked off its 2026 "Buddy Poppy" Campaign. Several weekends throughout the year, members of our Post and volunteer helpers will be standing outside the doors of the Wal-Mart stores in Louisburg and Wake Forest distributing the famous "Buddy Poppies". We encourage you to accept one with our compliments. We only ask that you wear it during the weeks leading up to Memorial Day to show that you remember those who gave their all for our Country. Of course, we will gladly accept your donations for our relief fund also. Join us for Wake Forest's own Friday Night on White outdoor street festival! There will be great music, good food, and some adult beverages. Of course, the Chuck Wagon will be there serving our regular menu of 100% Sirloin Burgers, Nathan's All-beef Franks and delicious Bratwurst subs. Each month from April through October, an American Flag is raised in front of the Wake Forest Town Hall at Centennial Plaza to honor the sacrifices of a deceased Wake Forest Veteran and their family.
