Joe is a third-generation Army paratrooper who served with the 82nd Airborne Division’s 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment from 1996 to 2000. After leaving active duty in 2000, he joined the North Carolina National Guard. During his service in the Guard, Joe was deployed to Iraq twice, totaling over two years, during which he supported and maintained DoD cybersecurity standards across various combat computer systems and networks. Today, Joe works as a cybersecurity consultant, helping DoD contractors develop and maintain DoD-mandated CMMC cybersecurity capabilities. He lives in Rolesville, North Carolina, with his wife, Crystal. Their son, Michael, is a Navy Aviation Electronics Technician currently stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California.
