Life Member Post 8466 - Army
1925 - 2025: Andrew J. Jursik, Sr., 99, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, 22 February 2025, just one month short of his 100th birthday, was born in Woodbridge, NJ. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He lived in Clark, NJ for many years, prior to moving to North Carolina 11 years ago.
Andrew was an Automobile Mechanic at GAF Corp. of Linden, NJ, for many years, retiring in 1988. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 328 of Clark, NJ, as well as a Life Member of VFW Post 8466 in Wake Forest. We met Andrew very late in life, when he was a resident of The Lodge in Wake Forest. Although he was physically unable to participate in VFW functions, his mind was sharp as a tack, and he told us many stories of his experiences during World War II.
Andrew was predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis (Colello) Jursik and his son Andrew J Jursik, Jr. He is survived by his devoted daughter-in-law Claudia Jursik; his cherished grandchildren, Andrew J Jursik III and his wife Samantha, Kyle M Jursik and his wife Jessica and Nicholas R Jursik and his wife Jennifer and his great grandchildren, Valor and Viviana Jursik.
