1948 - 2025: Howard Michael Lowdermilk, 77, of Wake Forest, NC, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on December 20th, 2025. He was born in Ramseur, NC to Earl and Ernestine Lowdermilk and was the youngest of four brothers and sisters. He lived, worked and went to school in Ramseur until enlisting in the United States Air Force at the age of 17. Howard served four years, including one year in Vietnam, before enrolling in NC State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for many years at Carolina Power and Light Company, and at the North Carolina State Utility Commission. He was proud of his military service and to be a part of Wake Forest VFW Post 8466, and the Purple Heart Foundation Board. He also happily served on the board of the NC State Employee's Credit Union. He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years Ann Lowdermilk, son Michael Lowdermilk and his wife Leanne, grandsons Eli and Luke Lowdermilk, daughter Karen Lowdermilk, Stepdaughter Lori Newnam and her husband Marcus and daughters Macie, Laney, and Aubrey, Stepdaughter Allison Russo and her husband Craig, brother in law Johnny Carmac, Nephew Chris Carmac and his wife Janice and Daughters Zoe and Noel, Niece Kelly Cassell and her husband Rob and their children Jordan, Jacob and Lyndsey.
