Mother Nature was good to us last month, and the crowd appreciated it and turned out in good numbers. There was music, good food, and some adult beverages under clear skies. Let's hope this month's event, on June 9 will be sunny and dry, too! Of course, the Chuck Wagon will be there serving our regular menu of 100% Sirloin Burgers, Nathan's All-beef Franks and delicious Bratwurst subs. To learn more about Friday Night on White, go to the Town of Wake Forest website at https://www.wakeforestnc.gov, under "Wake Forest Outdoors". To learn more about the Chuck Wagon, or to volunteer to help the Chuck Wagon crew, click the button on this promotion. If you can't work, just come out anyway and enjoy some great live music and perhaps an adult beverage along the way. And, naturally, visit the Chuck Wagon for some great food!
The Annual Purple Heart Banquet is Back for 2023!
This will be the 14th Annual Purple Heart Banquet and once again, we will be at Richland Creek Community Church. Our Annual Banquet is an incredible way to pay tribute to any recipient of the Purple Heart. A refreshingly patriotic event, anyone in the community is welcome to attend or volunteer at the Banquet. Mark your calendar and make your plans now!
Hosted by the Wake Forest Purple Heart Foundation, the Banquet honors those wounded in battle. In addition to Purple Heart Medal recipients and their families, the Banquet is open to all veterans and military families.
This year’s Purple Heart Banquet includes entertainment, patriotic tributes and a catered meal. The 2022 celebration saluted more than 50 Purple Heart recipients. Contributions may be made payable to Wake Forest Purple Heart Foundation, PO Box 168, Wake Forest, NC, 27588.
