Glenn served 6 years in the US Navy. His combat service was 1969-1970 with Naval Support Activity Saigon / Mobil Electronic Repair, where he installed and repaired radar and communications equipment on all river boats in the Mobile Riverine Forces in Vietnam. He was wounded and received a Purple Heart during his deployment. After returning from Vietnam, Glenn was stationed aboard a fleet oiler, USS Pawcatuck for the last 3 years of his enlistment. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Glenn used his electronics training to work 20 years in the telecommunications field. Glenn is now retired and living with his wife Frances in Raleigh, North Carolina where he enjoys playing with his 7 grandchildren and playing golf. He belongs to several Veterans' organizations, including Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post 8466.
