James “Dave” Cooke
Life Member Post 8466 - Marines
1945 - 2021 James David Cooke, Jr. was born May 3, 1945 in Charlottesville, Virginia. After graduating from Emory University, he was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps. He flew combat missions in the A-6 Intruder in Vietnam and would go on to fly the AV-8A Harrier and the F-4 Phantom. He was a Charter Member of Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post 8466, as well as a member of American Legion Post 187, and Marine Corps League Air, Land, NC Detachment #1257 in Wake Forest.
Dave leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Mary, and a close-knit family and circle of friends who will miss him dearly.
